Partnerships

Open Regional Journal considers partnerships that fit its focus on regional geography and help readers explore places with care. We accept clearly labelled partner placements, while keeping them separate from independent editorial decisions.

Suitable collaborations

Possible collaborations include educational material about regional mapping, place-name resources, cultural or geographic publications, and projects that help readers understand landscapes and regional connections. Proposals should state the subject, intended audience, format, funding or other support, and any requested placement.

Placement and labelling

Partner links or placements may appear in designated areas across the publication where they are relevant to its subject. Paid and partner-supported material is labelled clearly where it appears. A placement is not an endorsement of every claim or service, and partners cannot purchase editorial approval or influence independent coverage.

Send a proposal

Use the Contact page and select the partnership option. Include enough detail for us to understand the proposed subject and placement. We review proposals for relevance and clarity; sending one does not guarantee acceptance.

Our point of view

A region is more than a line on a map

We look at the land, names, borders and connections that give regions their character. Start with one visible detail, then follow what it can tell you.
